The subscription is not a bet on saving you money on any one answer. It buys you the whole ranch: somebody who works the herd for you, three independent ways to get an answer, and proof of what happened. Here is what an answer actually costs you, in the order Clint tries.

Free help, tried first
Nothing. Not a trial of nothing — the places that answer for free are ours, and every account gets them from the first minute with no key of your own.

A computer you already own
No money, to us or to anyone else. Work you mark private can only run here, so it never leaves your house — and no bill exists for it, because nobody else touched it.

Paid help, only if it has to
A paid service, at its own price, and only after the other two could not do the job. It never runs past a limit you set, and what it charged is on the receipt.

Clint walks them in that order every single time, and you never pick. When the free places can do the job, that is where your work goes — which is why most of what happens on your account has no bill attached to it at all.
What the fee is for
- Clint, working the whole herd on your behalf — you never pick who answers again.
- Three independent places to go when one of them breaks, so a bad afternoon somewhere else is not your bad afternoon.
- Your own machines in the rotation, with private work fenced to them.
- A signed receipt for every answer, checkable by you, kept as long as you keep it.
What it is not for: the paid services themselves. If Clint has to reach for one, that is your own spending against your own ceiling, itemised on your Trail. We do not take a cut of it and we never have.
Straight answers
What happens when the trial ends?
Everything stops until you start a plan — the free help and your own machines with it. We would rather tell you that plainly now than surprise you on the day. Nothing is deleted, and starting a plan brings it all back exactly as it was.
Do I need my own AI accounts or a graphics card?
No. You need nothing. The free places that answer for you are ours and every account gets them. Your own computer and your own paid accounts are things you can add later if you want them — they make your work more private and more resilient, and they are never a requirement to start.
Will you charge me for what the AI itself costs?
Not to us. If a paid service is the only one that can do a job, that service charges its own price and it lands against the ceiling you set. We take the flat fee and nothing else — no share of what you spend, and no share of what you save.
How do I stop?
From your account page, in one press, whenever you like. You keep what you have already paid for until the term you paid for runs out, and you can take your data with you. See the terms for the exact wording.
Where does my work actually go?
To whichever of the three places above answered it, and the receipt says which one. Work you mark private can only run on machines you own. The full list of companies that can ever receive anything is published live, generated from the running service rather than from a document someone remembers to update.
